Our Policies
Please communicate schedule changes directly to your tutor. For all questions regarding company policy, payments, or pricing, please contact our main office.
Tutoring Agreement Form is available here.
We offer both in-person and virtual tutoring at both our Green Lake and Columbia City offices. All in-person staff have shown proof of complete COVID vaccination. Masks are optional and welcomed. Please mask according to your comfort level. If you prefer your tutor be masked, just let us know.
Sessions are assumed to be sixty (60) minutes in length unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon in advance. Families are responsible for notifying tutors of any schedule changes. Students should arrive prepared for learning with the necessary tools and materials (classwork, homework, etc.); in the absence of school-assigned work, students will bring topics from the class syllabus to preview or review. Students are asked to treat their tutors and themselves with respect and open-mindedness.
Tutoring Policies and Pricing
If a student may be late, please alert your tutor directly. Tardiness past 15 minutes from the start of session time will result in the student being marked as a "No-Show," and 75% of the hourly fee will be charged. This includes online sessions.
Late Policy
48 Hour Cancellation Policy
We kindly request that schedule changes or cancellations be made at least 48 hours in advance of a scheduled session. No-shows, reschedules, or cancellations within 48 hours of the session start time will result in a charge of 75% of the hourly fee. This includes online sessions and remote-session cancellations, which must also be made 48 hours in advance. Exceptions will be made for sessions missed due to sudden illness or family emergency; illness should be communicated no later than the morning of the scheduled session.
These policies are in place to protect a tutor's time, as it is very difficult to fill last-minute slots. If a student expects to cancel or reschedule more than one session per month, the reserved time slot may be held for a fee or may otherwise be forfeited. Please note, if cancellations become frequent, reserved, weekly tutoring time may be forfeited. Exceptions will be made for sessions canceled or rescheduled due to school holidays, snow days, and class trips.
To protect our staff and other students, students should not come to sessions when they are sick or have had significant symptoms within the past 24 hours (fever, excessive coughing, sneezing, chills, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.). Please cancel, reschedule, or move to an online session instead. If your student stays home sick from school, please notify your tutor that morning.
If a student arrives to an in-person session visibly sick or reports being sick, they will be sent home; if they are unable to leave right away, they will be given a mask and asked to wait in a separate space. In either case, this will result in a charge of 75% of the hourly fee.
In the event of a family emergency, please let us know as soon as possible — exceptions to the 48-hour cancellation policy will be made in these cases.
If your tutor must stay home due to sickness or emergency, our main office will work with your tutor to contact you about available options, including an online session, a substitute tutor for your subject, or a rescheduled session.
We ask that you communicate directly with your tutor about scheduling.
Sickness/Emergency
Our tutors schedule independently from the schools. If your school cancels, please do not assume that tutoring is cancelled. Contact your tutor directly to determine if you could both travel safely to your meeting. If travel to an in-person meeting is unsafe, tutors may be available to meet virtually.
Exceptions to our 48-hour cancellation policy will be made in the case of emergencies, such as inclement weather. However, please notify your tutor of a cancellation by the morning of a session to avoid a late cancellation fee.
Snow Days (travel advisories, weather emergencies, etc.)
You will receive an invoice through email at the beginning of each month. Before starting tutoring, we will request an email to use for billing purposes. Tutors confirm sessions once they are complete, then an invoice is generated and sent via email. A record of all sessions, charges, and payments is saved in our online client portal.
Liddane Tutoring offers AutoPay. By engaging in services with us, you authorize Liddane Tutoring to store your selected payment method (bank account via ACH debit, or credit/debit card) via Stripe and GoCardless, and to automatically charge or initiate debits for tutoring services — billed in arrears — and related fees as they come due, in the amounts shown on each invoice, on a monthly basis or when services are completed with no future sessions scheduled. Charges or debits are initiated on or after each invoice's due date and continue until all outstanding invoices are paid.
Credit/debit card charges process immediately, whereas ACH bank transfers via GoCardless typically take 3–5 business days to clear. You may update your payment method or cancel AutoPay at any time by contacting billing@liddanetutoring.com at least 3 business days before the next scheduled charge. For ACH payments, you authorize electronic debits from the account provided and confirm you are an authorized signer on that account. Multiple failed payments or insufficient funds may result in a prepaid requirement or paying for services in advance. Your payment details are stored securely by Stripe or GoCardless; Liddane Tutoring & Learning Services does not retain full card or bank-account numbers.
If you would like to pay by check, please mail one to our office at Liddane Tutoring, 409 NE 70th St, Seattle, WA 98115.
Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice. If a bill remains unpaid 30 days after the invoice date, a 5% late fee will be added, accruing monthly until the bill is paid in full.
We do not offer split invoices with online payments; partial payments may be made by check.
Families requesting extensive check-in communications (e.g., weekly emails) and/or preparatory work may be charged extra for this time. Other obligations such as school meetings, phone calls, content-specific work, or consultation with other professionals may also result in the full hourly fee.
If you have any questions regarding your bill or payment, please contact our main office: info@liddanetutoring.com
